Hailey is really into making faces and we got lots of different faces while away. I thought this would be a fun post.

South Padre Island...part 3...flying a kite

We bought a kite and Hailey was ssssooooo excited to fly this kite. Once Glenne got it up in the Air she was amazed. We did have to try to get her to understand that she had to hold the handle a certain way,etc.

South Padre Island ...part 2..surfing

We did not plan on boogie boards. We thought Hailey was too young. For a day or so we saw these boogie boards in the garage where we parked for our "house" (as Hailey called it). Glenne finally decided he was just taking them obviously someone left them...there were 3, one was broken. We got 2 boogie boards and 2 noodles. Glenne introduced "surfing" to Hailey while we were there with the new boards. She was a little unsure but quickly LOVED it. Here are various pics.


this pic is of her coming back from "surfing"..this was like the 3rd day her and Glenne surfed. I love the look of accomplishment on her face. I will be cursing myself years from now when I have a surfer girl...but I love that she loves the beach and the ocean.

South Padre Island.....part 1.....

Ok....I just uploaded all of the pics from one camera and it was over 300...still got the ones from the cell and some from the other camera.......the vacation blogs will be in several posts. I have to get ready for 2 fantasy football drafts...blog updates....work...normal family life....recover and finish unpacking from vacation (man you sure take a lot of crap when you have a kid!!!). I also need to prepare for Hailey and I going to Philly (just us girls..yikes!!!) for the labor day weekend..fri to tue am. Ok...done with my little rant here.....one more thing to add...the card reader for the cell phone card and the one camera is missing.....so we are figuring out how to upload those.

Here are some various pics from the first day....We left Houston around 12ish sat am/fri night. We wanted to try to have at least part of our trip without non stop talking from Hailey. She went to bed and we finished packing up. When we were ready to leave we got her out of bed and laid her in her car seat and went on our way. Unfortunately.....I woke up with a virus wed before our vacation and lost my voice....so our trip was going well (except for me not being able to sleep) when I started coughing my head off (glenne says it was him stopping to get me tea) about 345am and could not stop with the liquid I had in the car. Luckily we were in a "civilized" area and saw a Denny's off the highway. Glenne stopped and got me some tea with lemon and honey. As soon as he stopped she woke up.....we kept telling her it was too early and she needed to sleep or just not talk. Amazingly...she fell for this and was quiet till we got to South Padre Island and we got her out to see the sunset.

Here are the sunset pictures....We got to the island around 630am. We parked next to our place and there was a beach access right there. We parked and got out to wait for the sun to rise. It took all we had to not let Hailey run in the sand. We could not check in for quite a few hours and did not want to deal with sandy toddler.

No sun yet.....trying to explain to a TODDLER that the sun will come up over where it is dark...hahahahha ( a toddler that has been up since 345am..but slept for about 45 min at some point in there)

There is more to come.......She did say....wwwwoooowww....when she realized that the sky was getting lighter. She kept seeing a few people on the beach..fishing or watching the sunrise and she noticed that more then the actual sunrise. I hate to say she gets that from me, I am always seeing the little things going on. uuuggghhh!!!

Back from Vacation!!!

We are back from vacation.....It was such a fun week. We took soo many pictures. I have to upload them and write about our vacation. We did not have any free interent access and did not feel it was necessary to pay for access since we were on vacation. I actually read a book a little too!!!

Wordless Wednesday...almost

We go on our vacation this weekend. We are looking forward to it, only bad thing is that I got a viral infection and have lost my voice. I went to the dr today and got meds. I should have my voice back in a few days. I do get today and tomorrow off from work since I have no voice though!! :)

I do not know if I will be posting while we are away.....but if not there will be lots of pictures to post when we get back home.
